I’ve noticed some games with 100k downloads being delisted, like when they moved to Crunchyroll. Does having only 100k downloads mean a game isn’t successful?
Not at all. 100k downloads can be considered a big success for small teams or indie developers. For a large company like EA, it might not be enough, but for most developers, it’s great. The games likely moved to Crunchyroll because Crunchyroll offered them a deal, not because of low downloads.

Yeah, it’s frustrating. 100k is huge for indie developers. Crunchyroll taking over made the games less enjoyable.

Which games are you talking about?

Three games: Battle Chasers: Nightwar, Lost Words, and Roto Force.

Got it, thanks!
It depends. If it’s a free game and most players install and uninstall it immediately, it’s not great. But if it’s a paid game and hits 100k downloads over a reasonable time, that’s usually a good sign.
For a solo developer, even 1k or 10k downloads is a success! Delisting typically happens because of a developer’s decision or policy violations, not automatically due to low downloads. The only downside to low downloads is that search algorithms make the game harder to find. I have some games with just 100+ downloads, and they’re still on the store, just hard to discover.
It’s subjective. I listen to bands with only 1k–10k listeners, and they’re amazing. Success depends on perspective.
