I’ve been using the OnePlus 10T for a while, and I’ve noticed something odd with its fast charging. My phone supports 160W charging, which is super quick—it goes from 0 to 100% in about 20 minutes. But I feel like my battery drains faster when I use the fast charger compared to when I use a slower one.
Recently, I tried charging with a regular 30W charger instead, and my phone seemed to last longer during the day. Has anyone else experienced this? Do you think fast charging might reduce battery efficiency, or is it just in my head? Would love to hear your thoughts!

The battery didn’t last longer. This has to be a placebo effect.
That’s not how batteries or charging work.
I’d love to understand this better because it feels different to me. When I use the 30W charger, my phone seems to last longer. Can you explain why this might not be the case?
@Hart
What matters is the total energy you put into the battery, not how fast you do it. Think of it like filling a tank with water—whether you use a small pipe or a large one, the amount of water stays the same.
That said, fast charging might cause slight temperature increases, which could have tiny effects, but they shouldn’t be noticeable in daily use. Variations in screen brightness, apps running, or signal strength are more likely causes for what you’re noticing.
It’s probably not what you think. Some phones keep charging a little after hitting “100%” to make the charge time look shorter. If you unplugged too soon with the fast charger but not the slower one, that could explain it.
