Honor’s Magic7 Pro is here, and it’s bringing flagship specs and a focus on cameras. But does it stand out in a crowded field?
Specs breakdown:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite
- 6.8" OLED (2800x1280, 120Hz)
- RAM/Storage: 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, 16GB/1TB
- Battery: 5270mAh (EU) or 5850mAh (elsewhere)
- Software: 4 years of OS updates, 5 years of security patches
Pricing:
- 12GB/512GB model: 1300 Euros ($1000 street price)
What do you think?
@Vance
I can confirm it’s 5850mAh in the Middle East. The 512GB version retails for 878 GBP (it’s the only option available for now).
@Vance
The smaller battery in Europe is a dealbreaker for me. I followed Chinese reviews before global launch, but now I’m disappointed. Even if it’s priced at £799, it feels like a downgrade compared to competitors this year.
@Vance
How is this different from the Magic6 Pro?
Main differences: new chipset and slightly different battery sizes. Cameras are nearly the same except for a minor upgrade to the periscope sensor.
@Reagan
So would the Magic6 Pro be a better buy, especially if prices drop? I have a Vivo X100 Pro, but I might be tempted if the Honor’s camera matches it.

The Vivo X100 Pro’s 1-inch sensor is superior. Even reviews of the X200 Pro don’t claim it’s a major step up. However, the telephoto lens on the Honor Magic7 Pro does seem to be an improvement.
@Vance
Four OS upgrades for this price isn’t great.

It’s decent for some people, especially if they upgrade every 3-4 years. Other brands like Samsung or Apple offer better longevity, but it depends on priorities. For me, 4 years of updates is enough.
It has actual Face ID and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. That’s awesome.
Battery comparison:
- Magic6 Pro: 5600mAh
- Magic7 Pro: 5270mAh (EU) / 5850mAh (global)
Is this a downgrade?

For Europe, yes. Everyone else gets an upgrade.
Honor doesn’t sell spare parts directly to customers, and there are no repair guides. You’d have to send the phone to them for repairs. No thanks.
The article mentioned heating issues. I thought the Snapdragon 8 Elite was supposed to run cooler?
Is it hard to get Google Play and apps running on this?

If it’s a Chinese import, maybe. But global models have all the Google stuff pre-installed.
