Marvel Snap is back… but now they are publishing it themselves

After being temporarily banned in the US, Marvel Snap is finally back. They’ve cut ties with Nuverse and are now self-publishing under Second Dinner. If you had an account before, your data is still there.

The game is super fun, but man, it’s a cash grab.

Last time I checked, you need to spend at least $70-$90 a month if you play daily to stay competitive. If you don’t play every day, that number jumps closer to $200.

I was going to ask if it’s worth trying, but your comment answered that for me.

It’s definitely fun, but keeping up costs way too much (at least for me).

No game is fun enough to justify spending that much. You could buy a bunch of great games for the same price and get more entertainment.

I played a lot last year and only spent about $10 every other month, and I was still competitive. The game is seriously fun, way more than I expected.

But yeah, if you don’t keep up with daily play, you’ll fall behind fast. It’s easy to start, but if you take a break, getting back in is rough.

@Blake
Yeah, I quit because keeping up every day just got exhausting.

Nah, this guy probably needs every new card because he’s not good at the game. I haven’t spent a dime and still hit Infinite in my second month. Been doing it every month since.

If you play regularly, you get cards at a decent rate. They even boosted drop rates recently. People love to complain, but the game is more about knowing when to snap and retreat than just having the best cards.

@Oakley
And if you take a break or miss your shop rotations, good luck. I played for a year from launch, took a couple months off, and suddenly needed five new cards just to keep up.

Really fun game, but not beginner-friendly at all.

@Oakley
I played hardcore for the first couple of years but had to quit. I refuse to play a game where I can’t stay competitive without spending a bunch of money. Same reason I stopped playing Hearthstone years ago. Sucks, because I miss it.

@Oli
I miss Snap too, but I just couldn’t justify spending on it anymore.

@Oakley
That’s just not true. I’m not saying their pricing is good, but you can stay competitive just by getting the $10 season pass. And if you use discounts or Google Opinion Rewards, you can bring that cost down. I spend around $6-7 a month and never bought anything else, missed some months, and I’m still doing fine.

Man, those reviews are rough… sad to see how much it’s fallen.

So are they gonna be less greedy now, or is it the same old thing?

Haha, you wish.

Lmao, not happening.

The game was removed from stores for a bit, and they lost money. Now they need to make that back. Expect even more ways to get you to spend.

So the Hearthstone devs left Blizzard just to make something even more greedy than Hearthstone?

I was hooked on Marvel Snap for about a year. The gameplay is amazing—fast-paced, lots of deck variety. But over time, they made it worse.

It’s great… if you can actually get the cards you need.

Crazy to think about, but honestly, not surprising.
