Will I like Balatro if I didn’t enjoy Slay the Spire?

I tried Slay the Spire but couldn’t really get into it. Does Balatro feel different enough that I might enjoy it?

I’ve tried a few deck games before, and none of them really stuck with me, but Balatro is amazing. You don’t even have to know poker rankings, though it helps a little.

I’d recommend giving it a full run to see how you feel. I wasn’t sure at first either, but after a good run, I got hooked.

I don’t usually care for deck builders either, but Balatro is so addictive for me. For comparison, I enjoy Marvel Snap but not much else in this genre.

There’s definitely a chance. I liked Slay the Spire, but I couldn’t get into Balatro. Maybe it’ll be the opposite for you!

I’m not into deck builders or card games in general, but I gave Balatro a shot. It’s not a bad game, but it didn’t keep my interest for long. After a few hours, I got bored.

If you enjoy casual poker games, it might be a good fit. I liked it enough to play for about a week, but once I started digging into advanced strategies and mechanics, it felt overwhelming, and I stopped.

Just try it out and see how you feel. Personally, I like Balatro more than standard deck-building games. It feels more like a real card game compared to something like Slay the Spire, which to me feels like a video game just using cards as the mechanic. Hope that makes sense.

I usually avoid deck games because they take forever to play, and with some games (especially online ones), it feels like everyone else has paid for the best cards, leaving no chance for someone like me.

Balatro, though, is different. I can play it for hours, and I absolutely love it. It even helped me get through some really tough days when I wasn’t feeling great.
