The Xiaomi 15 Pro seems to be getting a lot of attention because of its display and efficiency. Anyone here tried it? How does it hold up compared to other flagship phones?
Here are some specs I found:
- 6.73-inch AMOLED, 3200x1440 resolution, 120Hz
- RAM/Storage options: 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and 1TB
- 6100mAh battery
- Promised 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security patches
- Price is around $800 if you import from China
Also, it seems to throttle less compared to other high-end Snapdragon phones.
@Verne
$800 imported isn’t bad… but that’s still a lot of money to gamble on an import.

Yeah, I’d probably wait for a global release just to be safe.

Looks like they might not release the 15 Pro globally. The same thing happened with the 14 Pro.
@Peyton
Do you have any specific source or info on this?

Not exactly, but the 14 Pro didn’t get a global release, so there’s a chance the 15 Pro won’t either. Nothing confirmed yet though.
@Hadi
Yeah, it’s not certain, but some reliable sources and Chinese news suggest the same. As a 13 Pro user, I’d love to upgrade to a global version of the 15 Pro if it happens.

How’s your 13 Pro doing? I remember it had one of the best cameras with that 1-inch sensor, but the battery life worried me. Any issues with that?
@Hadi
I use my phone a lot, probably too much. I charge it wirelessly overnight, take it off around 7am, and it lasts till about midnight with 10% left. I’ve had it for almost 2 years now, and despite all the scrolling, GPS usage, and calls, it’s held up well. No real complaints.
Wait, is it true you can’t switch lenses while recording video? Isn’t that one of the main selling points of a flagship phone?

I think that’s a limitation on this model… not sure why they didn’t include it.
@Ray
That’s disappointing. Switching lenses on the go is super handy.
They’re still using a 1/2.51-inch sensor for the telephoto lens while competitors have way larger ones. Plus, the main lens is just Omnivision? And this is supposed to be a Pro?
I’ll pass. Their Hyper OS is awful. It’s becoming a nightmare to use third-party launchers or sideload apps on this bloatware.
