Confused splurge on an expensive phone or buy a budget phone

Hello to all of you.

I had a Pixel 6A that I had purchased secondhand, and it was stolen.

It has been over a month since I switched to my old Redmi Note 4 phone.

I now want to purchase the Samsung S23 FE or the new Pixel 8. However, I worry that phone might be taken again.

since this is India and the police are inert

I purchased the Pixel 6A now that it would be more difficult to steal.

I am stuck now, should I get a phone with an eSIM since they would be more difficult to steal, but they also cost more? Besides, it didn’t work with the Pixel 6a.

Which phone should I purchase right now?
The primary phones I am considering are the Samsung m35, Poco x6 or Poco f6, S23 FE, and Nord 4 Pixel 8.

The best and most affordable option is M35, which has a 4-year lifespan.

Good phone with custom ROM support for Poco X6.

Poco F6: excellent processor, fantastic value for money, but poor build quality

S23 FE is a high-end phone, however its battery life is poor.

Best battery is the Nord 4, but compatibility for Oneplus modified roms is lacking.

Pixel 8 is too costly for the value it provides.

The heichry, to me, is

excellent battery

excellent camera

support for custom roms

ESIM IS A BENEFIT

I am not sure if it would be better to save up for a cheaper phone instead of buying an expensive one right now.

Pixel is a long-term investment, but because I have to travel frequently for work, I am afraid it might be stolen again.

Even though I can easily purchase any phone, I am thrilled that I received a used Xiaomi 12t Pro. I purchased it to replace my deceased Galaxy Fold 3 during the Songkran festival. Consider your phone to be a throwaway item. Since I am a coder, I just do not see the need for the more costly gadget. particularly if it may be stolen. I may purchase a new one because I damaged the screen, but it is still fully functional and I do not plan to replace it until it becomes unusable. When the screen fails, it is probably still usable as a server or testing device. The camera is incredible; it has more power than my fold, and the battery life is also incredible. I bought my girlfriend the last iPhone because I don’t think it has much value as a computing device—she really just uses it to show off. On a different note, I’m a little irritated that phones cannot execute containers…

What you want to use your phone for is the question you need to answer. Invest in a camera with an excellent quality if you plan to shoot a lot of pictures. Because I travel, my Samsung S10+ is compatible with all nations. Even though it is much less expensive, my Samsung M33 also functions in the US, the UAE, and India. The cheaper phone is functional with the networks I use in these countries; however, it might not be compatible with all networks. More bands are found on higher-end phones than on lower-end models. In summary, make a list of the functions you feel your phone should have, enter them into a spreadsheet, and proceed from there.
