Google is not working on my phone

I can’t open google on my phone for 2 days now, it will show “something went wrong”. I tried to use other accounts, none worked as well. I also can’t open gmail and chrome, and some other none google apps seem to be affected too, such as vault app where i keep my ‘private’ stuff. However, I can open google on my laptop, using my account. So, I’m not sure if my phone is the issue or the google app on my phone. It’s annoying because I can’t search anything on the go, can’t open my emails when I need to, and I fear that other important apps will get affected too, such as my banking apps, youtube, and whatsapp. I’ve tried clearing cache, deleting things in the storage to make space, and restarting the phone plenty of times. My phone is almost 5 years old, bought it in the middle of 2019. But I don’t think that’s the issue because unsupported phones won’t receive new features and updates, and the security won’t be fully protected anymore and that’s it. I don’t think it affects anything to the point where I can’t use google at all. Also, some people use the same phone longer than 5 years, and they never experienced such issues other than lags and slow system. What do you guys think?

The link you’re clicking is to a website. To browse the web you need to use a web browser. The browser is what interprets the websites code and renders what you see.

On android phones(probably iphones too) apps can have a webview within them which is like a lite browser. Its all of the rendering and script processing but without the tab interface and browser “chrome". Some apps let you open website pages without leaving their app like that. The con is that app then has some data beyond just the link you clicked. They can tell how much time you spent on the site and may be able to tell what pages you visit subsequently.

You know how folks always joke that google/other apps like Facebook is listening to them? Theyre not (outside of when you trigger the assistant), the reality is theyre combining data like this over time and accurately pushing content to you based on your behaviors that they can see.

Don’t uninstall updates. Just clear the cache and storage and it will start working again.

Found the temporary fix.

Go to app store and uninstall Google app. This will uninstall update that bricked the search bar. Everything should work normally afterwards.

Don’t update Google app until they release a corrected update.

Yeah. It isn’t working right now. I tried restarting the phone and clearing it. The Google Chrome app is working though, in case you need search and Google functions.
