Gemini always felt rushed to begin with, so not shocking.
Honestly, I like it.
Great, a new Gemini UI. Meanwhile, the calendar interface still feels like it’s stuck in 2005.
The design feels like a step backward from the minimal rainbow bar on Pixel 4’s Assistant rollout. Even Siri is trying to imitate that now.
Why so negative? I think it taking up less space is an improvement. Plus, the new ‘Summarize’ button is super convenient for articles. The FAB list does look a little awkward, though.

That’s just how LLMs work, though. Fixing that would require a whole new technology.

Yes, set your ‘Default digital assistant app’ to none, just like you would with default phone or browser apps.
