High battery usage when using Maps and Android Auto

Today, I spent three hours and ten minutes driving. Using Google maps, I had Android Auto connected to my vehicle. According to my battery metrics, I used 6.8% of my battery on Android Auto and 9.5% on maps.

My phone was locked, and I was only using Android Auto and GPS in my car. Possess a Z fold 4.

Is 15%+ lost merely from driving not too high.

While you are driving all this, are you not leaving your phone charging in the car? From the sound of it, that is typical procedure. I spent several years collecting up client cars to bring into dealerships for service Lincoln, BMW, Jaguar, Mercedes, Honda. There was a charging cable hanging from almost all of those vehicles. A few of those high-end vehicles also featured slots or pads for wireless charging. Have you ever observed an Uber or Lyft driver using their phone while driving? Put it in and forget about running out of battery life.

Sadly, my car’s shoddy 0.5A USB charger means that it can not really be used for charging. I will give the cigarette lighter chargers a go as I just noticed they might have greater power.

Indeed, chargers for cigarette lighters can work better. My old automobile does not have any integrated charging connectors. However, I have noticed that utilizing Google Maps with a Cig connection always leaves me with 100% at the end of a trip. However, even.5A ought to be somewhat more efficient than nothing at all. Perhaps not that much.

Completely typical. That is really not too bad for three or more hours of AA. As several people have already mentioned, when you are actively using AA, your phone is doing a lot of work even though the screen is off. It is no like it is idle or just a little background process going on.

That is good to know; I had assumed that AA worked similarly to Bluetooth.

No, GPS weighs a lot. Are the two percentages (i.e., 6% of the 15% battery consumed) absolute or relative to the total amount of battery used during that period.
