How do I transfer everything from my old phone to my new one...?

I’m using Consumer Cellular and I want to get a new phone, but I’m not sure how to transfer everything from my old phone. I’m not super tech-savvy and don’t have backups set up (I think), but I mainly just want to move my contacts and photos over. Anyone done this before? Any tips?

Yeah, I’ve done this before! You can set up a Google account if you don’t have one, and then back up your contacts and photos to it. It’s pretty easy once you get it going.

Oh, that makes sense! So everything just syncs once I get the new phone?

Yep, exactly! During setup, just log into the same Google account on the new phone, and your stuff should come over automatically.

I used Google Photos to back up my pics! Saved me a lot of trouble. Make sure to enable ‘Backup & Sync’ in the app.

I’ve never used Google Photos before… where do I find that option?

Once you download the app, go to settings in Google Photos and turn on ‘Backup & Sync.’ It’ll upload all your photos to the cloud.

If you don’t have a Google account yet, make sure to create one. That’s the easiest way to transfer everything!

I don’t think I have one set up yet… do I just do that in the phone settings?

Yep! Go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Accounts’ > ‘Add Account’ > Google. It’ll guide you through setting it up. After that, you can sync your contacts and photos.

Btw, for under $200, the Moto G Play or Samsung Galaxy A03s are solid options if you’re still deciding on a phone!

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll check those out. :+1:

Lol, I was confused about this too when I switched phones. Google account saved my life!

Haha, glad I’m not the only one! Sounds like Google account is the way to go for sure!
