I agree, but if we block Forbes, we’d need to do the same for other Android and Google-related websites too.

Yes, please. I use ChatGPT or Copilot to summarize clickbait articles for me. Saves a lot of time.
Summary from Copilot:
- Samsung’s Galaxy S24 and S23 do not support seamless updates, requiring full-system reboots.
- Security updates are staggered based on model, region, and carrier, leading to delays.
- A critical Qualcomm vulnerability may not be patched in the latest update.
Not a huge issue for me; I can handle restarting my phone monthly.

The clickbait titles are exhausting.

They confuse topics like seamless updates and security patches, implying Samsung is falling behind. Samsung provides fast monthly patches, often earlier than Pixel. The lack of seamless updates is about applying them in a more user-friendly way, not the speed of patches.

Some people might not like paywalls.
TL;DR: The S24 lineup doesn’t support seamless updates.

Not “yet,” but never. Seamless updates require A/B partitioning, which isn’t feasible to add via OTA without wiping user data. Phones like the A55 and S25 will have it, but not the S24 series.
I don’t mind Samsung’s update approach. I schedule updates overnight, so I’m never inconvenienced.

Doesn’t it boot to the password screen after an update? Meaning no one can call you until you unlock it?
@Macon
Recent Samsung devices support File-Based Encryption (FBE), which allows calls before unlocking. Phones with Full-Disk Encryption (FDE) don’t, but those are outdated.
