Sudden updates being installed despite disabled auto update

I have had my play store auto update turned off for years. For apps that require updates, I much rather download them manually. However, since I have an older phone with limited storage and I do not want updates to ruin my experience, I never want my apps to update automatically.

You can only imagine how shocked I was to see so many distinct icons on my phone when I took it out of the charger. I quickly open the app store to stop any more updates to my apps, but since it started about an hour ago, it has updated over fifty apps, fully filling up my storage. Worse, some of the apps are no longer useable because of all the updates, which make them less responsive on my outdated phone and add advertisements. Apps that do not auto update" are enabled in my Google account. I also turned off OTA updates in the developer settings, because it was not enough, I chose to teach it a lesson with my Samsung A22. However, I am aware that I should remove the ones I do not want and stop them from coming back. To be honest, this did not finish the annoying notification task. I fixed that by using a different system that needed to be reset once a week. I will not be talking about it because I am willing to share my “fix all” through adb, which even removes the software update tab from the settings menu.

If auto updates are still enabled, check the playstore settings and disable them. You may even disable background data consumption and place battery restrictions on Play Store. To obtain older app versions, utilize apkmirror. I understand your suffering, man even I avoid updating pointless programs. Hopefully that is useful.

Like you, I only update things when absolutely necessary. To that end, I recently deleted the software update tab from the settings using an adb connection. Oh :flushed:my, it is gone, but hey, :tada::partying_face:, I will teach you not to update, Samsung, I promise.
