Rumors suggest Vivo is planning to release a smaller-screen mid-range phone in 2024. Is this the compact phone enthusiasts have been waiting for?

The V40 Pro isn’t even mid-range. T3 Pro or T3 Ultra are mid-range.

This is based on a Chinese rumor. The T3 line is India-only, so it’s unlikely the leak refers to that. In China, the V or S series are mid-range due to pricing, which doesn’t include the global tax. The Y series wouldn’t match the rumored Dimensity 9000s chipset.
@Koa
(The S series in China is usually worse than the V series, like how the S20 only had an 8MP ultrawide, mono speakers, and no Zeiss optics compared to the V40.)
6.1" is not mini lmao.

It’s the closest to ‘mini’ that might actually sell in decent numbers.

It’s the size of the phone that matters, not just the display. A 6.1" screen with slim bezels can be really compact.

Actually, the screen might be 6.31", like on the X200 Pro mini. That’s larger than a ‘mini’ but still reasonable for today’s standards, especially in the West.
@Bowie
We’re all gonna have iPads in our pockets at this rate. The bigger the phone, the more addictive it is, so I prefer to keep it small. A modern 5.5" phone would be perfect for me.
I wouldn’t call 6.3" small though.

That’s what she said.
Jokes aside, 6.3" is not small.

It is, when the average phone screen size is 6.7–6.8".

‘Small’ should mean <6 inches.
