Why does Android 13 use 96 Gigs of my Motorola Edge

Of the 128 gigabytes of storage on my phone, 96 are being consumed by Android. I have to remove music and apps all the time to free up some space. Can I do anything else besides making a backup and restarting? If not, is there a way for me to find a tutorial online to do this? We are grateful for any assistance! Regards

96 GB seems excessively large. Have you used an app to delete your cache.

tried SD Maid, but not much was cleared.

CCleaner is a decent program. However, the Android 15 seems to require about 15GB of RAM. At most, let’s say 30 gigabytes.
Check to check if you have any large, neglected files by using a file storage program.

Did SD Maid’s StorageAnalyzer tool suggest anything that might occupy the space, app data or cache are typically included in the “Other” category.

I have identified the issue. Played episodes on my podcast app were not supposed to be erased. Worth 72 gigabytes
